Mobirise

Where to add the Otto chat code in Mobirise so it is on every page, how to publish the site again and what to do when the chat does not show.

On this page

Mobirise is a website builder that runs on your computer and uploads the finished site to wherever you publish it. You add the chat code to the Analytics field in the site settings and publish the site again. It takes about 5 minutes.

What you need

  • An Otto account. You find the chat code in the panel under Overview, on the Installation & integrations card, on the Mobirise tile. It is under the More platforms tile, and you can also search for it.
  • The Mobirise app with your website project.
  • Access to where you publish the site, for example FTP details.

Chat code

On the Mobirise tile, click Copy code. You get one line with your company’s public key:

<script async src="https://ottoai.sk/widget.js" data-otto-key="pk_vas_kluc"></script>
The sample shows pk_vas_kluc instead of a key, the tile gives you the code with your own key. The key is not a password, you do not need to hide it. Add the code once, it covers the whole site.

Adding the code

  1. In Mobirise, open the main menu and the list of sites (Sites).
  2. Click the blue gear icon next to your site to open Site Settings.
  3. Choose SEO & Analytics and paste the chat code into the Analytics field. If the field already contains code, add the chat below it.
  4. Click Publish in the top right.
  5. Choose where you publish the site, for example FTP or .mobirisesite.com, and publish it.
Mobirise adds the code to the site files only when you publish. Until you publish again, the chat is not on your site.

You can also follow the official Mobirise help.

Checking it works

  1. Open your website in a new browser window and reload. A chat bubble should pop up in the bottom right.
  2. Send the chat a test question. Otto answers within a few seconds.
  3. In the panel, under Settings, Connections, the Your website row shows the domain the chat runs on.
Custom scripts do not run in the Mobirise editor, so check the chat on the published site.

What Otto knows about your site

Otto answers from the pages of your website and from the knowledge you add in the panel. Once the chat runs on your site, turn on I have no XML feed, let Otto read my site in the panel under Settings, Catalogue. More in Reading your website.

Troubleshooting

I have the Code Editor extension

You can also add the code in Site Settings, section Global HTML Insert, which adds it to all pages. Put it in one place only, not in Analytics as well.

The chat shows on one page only

The code is probably in the page settings (Inside <head> code or End of <body> code), which apply to a single page. Delete it there and add it to Site Settings, SEO & Analytics, Analytics.

I upload the site to my server manually

The code from Analytics is on every page, so a change updates all HTML files. Publish the site to a folder (Local drive folder) and upload all pages to the server.

Also check

  • Reload the page without cache with Ctrl+F5, or open it in a private window.
  • The code should be on the page only once, a second copy is ignored.
  • A cookie consent bar can block scripts until the visitor agrees. If the chat only shows up after consent, see Cookie consent.
  • If your site sends a Content-Security-Policy header, allow https://ottoai.sk in it, as shown in Content-Security-Policy.
  • In the browser console (F12), look for messages starting with [Otto]. They tell you what the chat is missing.
  • Still nothing? Write to us at podpora@ottoai.sk and include your website address.

Removing the chat

In Site Settings, SEO & Analytics, delete the chat code from the Analytics field and publish the site again with Publish.
