VEDOS WebSite

Where to add the Otto chat code on a VEDOS WebSite site (formerly WEDOS), how to publish it, and what to do when the chat does not show.

On this page

VEDOS WebSite (formerly WEDOS WebSite, now WebSite 1.0) is a block-based website editor with its admin in Czech. You add the chat code to the header in the project or page settings and publish the site. Once custom code is turned on for you, it takes about 10 minutes.

What you need

  • An Otto account. You find the chat code in the panel under Overview, on the Installation & integrations card, on the VEDOS WebSite tile. It is under the More platforms tile, and you can also search for it.
  • WebSite on the paid Profi or Premium version. The Free version does not allow custom code.
  • Custom code turned on. VEDOS turns it on for paid versions on request through support.
  • Access to the VEDOS customer admin (formerly WEDOS).

Chat code

On the VEDOS WebSite tile, click Copy code. You get one line with your company’s public key:

<script async src="https://ottoai.sk/widget.js" data-otto-key="pk_vas_kluc"></script>
The sample shows pk_vas_kluc instead of a key, the tile gives you the code with your own key. The key is not a password, you do not need to hide it. Add the code once, it covers the whole site.

Adding the code

  1. In the customer admin, choose Hostingové služby (hosting services) and WebSite at the top, then click Přihlásit (log in) in the WebSite rozhraní pro správu section.
  2. In the WebSite interface, open the editor with the green pencil button.
  3. In the top right of the editor, click the three vertical dots (⋮) and choose Nastavení projektu (project settings), which applies to all pages.
  4. Paste the chat code into the Vložit Header field and click Uložit nastavení (save settings).
  5. If Vložit Header is not in the project settings, open Nastavení stránky (page settings) from the same three dots and paste the code on each page separately.
  6. Click Zveřejnit web (publish website) on the right of the top bar, select all pages and confirm with Zveřejnit nyní (publish now).
WebSite 1.0 is no longer developed and VEDOS is replacing it with Website SODEW, which runs on WordPress. If you have Website SODEW, these steps do not apply, see the WordPress guide.

You can also follow the official VEDOS WebSite help.

Checking it works

  1. Open your website in a new browser window and reload. A chat bubble should pop up in the bottom right.
  2. Send the chat a test question. Otto answers within a few seconds.
  3. In the panel, under Settings, Connections, the Your website row shows the domain the chat runs on.
Settings take effect on the site only after Zveřejnit web. Check the chat on the published site.

What Otto knows about your site

Otto answers from the pages of your website and from the knowledge you add in the panel. Once the chat runs on your site, turn on I have no XML feed, let Otto read my site in the panel under Settings, Catalogue. More in Reading your website.

Troubleshooting

I cannot see the Vložit Header field or the code does not save

Custom code is not turned on for you, or you have the Free version. In the customer admin, open the WebSite service and use the chat or form icon in its detail to ask support to turn on custom code.

The chat shows on some pages only

The code is only in the settings of some pages. Add it to the other pages in Nastavení stránky too, and select all pages when you click Zveřejnit web.

Also check

  • Reload the page without cache with Ctrl+F5, or open it in a private window.
  • The code should be on the page only once, a second copy is ignored.
  • A cookie consent bar can block scripts until the visitor agrees. If the chat only shows up after consent, see Cookie consent.
  • If your site sends a Content-Security-Policy header, allow https://ottoai.sk in it, as shown in Content-Security-Policy.
  • In the browser console (F12), look for messages starting with [Otto]. They tell you what the chat is missing.
  • Still nothing? Write to us at podpora@ottoai.sk and include your website address.

Removing the chat

In Nastavení projektu, or in Nastavení stránky on each page, delete the code from Vložit Header, click Uložit nastavení and publish the site again with Zveřejnit web.
